Take this and relate it to music. It’s time for elitism to stop being a dirty word in DIY/underground culture. If everyone cares and everyone gives and everyone strives to be the best that they can be at whatever they’re doing within the culture, then the culture is stronger and everyone benefits.
This culture wouldn't exist without elitism. Elitism is what built it from the ground up and people following in the footsteps of those "forefathers" for all of these years is what has and what will continue to maintain it.
